Tutorial for creating Isometric Pixel Art.

Posted by TurkeyOnAStick - October 21st, 2013

Hello.

Long story short, please click here to read my tutorial for creating isometric pixel images!

Short story long, my mate has started up a web design blog providing tutorials and freebies, and I offered some help to get it started with a tutorial.

I'm no pixel pro, since I only dabble with pixel stuff occasionally. Most of the stuff in the blog should help out a relative beginner, such as drawing pixelise lines and curves, and handling anti-aliasing and dithering. Hopefully it will encourage you to attempt your own creation, big or small.

And if you're an expert, you can sneer at the other tips and techniques that I like to follow, such as how I handle brainstorming ideas, how I choose colour palettes, and the lazy ways I pixelise shapes and text.

If I've forgotten anything fundamental, or if I poorly explain something, please leave a comment. And if I help you, leave a comment about that, too!

... oh, and PLEASE CLICK HERE TO READ MY TUTORIAL FOR CREATING ISOMETRIC PIXEL IMAGES!

Sounds cool. I'm gonna check this out later. :)

Very cool, brotha

You're tha man, man!

Thank you for this, Turkey. I'm a super-newb at pixel art and the steps/techniques that were presented helped significantly. I think pixelised shadows and lighting always trip me up.
Great slot-machine robot, too. :D

oooh squares
